Okay i was watching a couple how to videos on how to get started! and i think that is just way to much for me to do and understand!! my buddy tried showing me stuff with his hp tuners and brought up all the diesel stuff on there and i have no clue about it! is there people who can tune it for me with what i want and put the 5 position switch with out buying efi live Just the license in because i hear how it sucks with vista and thats what i got on my computer so i'd rather stay away from it. i just think if i start trying to tune my self my motor is going to go buy buy. i was going to do that and my tranny in less then 3 weeks. or could some one send me some better links on how to use it before i buy it? thanks

I have vista and I printed out the tutorial on how to read the pcm off of efi download. It went super easy,, after I fixed a blown fuse that I didnt know I had. You down load the cd, update it tru efi. Turn ignition to the run position without turning veh on, Make sure truck is stock(take handheld tuners off of motor, plug in obdII then the cable to the V2, then cable from V2 into laptop. double click tune 7.5 tool, then click the green arrow with a black back ground-read pcm calib. it will take some 3 minutes then say its done, turn truck key to the off position for the countdown of 15sec, then you done. go to file, save as stock tune. save the stock tune a couple of different places..

That easy. I was sweatin bad til I did it... I think the printed download was what made it easy for me to read while I was in the truck.

Now just read what tuners are doing, if you like what they do, ask them how to make you a tune. I purchased mine from Mcrat and he requests you send your stock tune with listed mods, tires, n he makes a tune for ur needs. Cant get any easier then that. Good luck, hope you get it

its intense at first, but take it a step at a time and youll get the hang of it.
biggest thing that helped me learn was driving and comparing tunes. (small vs. large hp) then i just looked at the tables and learned what they affected. its well worth it, and its really not that hard. it doesn't have to be super time consuming either, unless you want it to be.

go with one of the venders on this site for your efi. they all are good and if you ever need help there are tons of people on here that can help:D:hello:

I've only dealt with SoCalDiesel (the vendor that actually got EFI Live interested in supporting the Duramax) or McRat Racing (lots of end user tech support)...Several guys have been happy with IdahoRob or Diesel Addiction, or any other supporting vendor...The tuning is pretty much on a level field, customer service is usually the deciding factor...Good luck with your purchase, you won't be disappointed...
