I've got a bone stock 04 2500hd. I have owned a few turbo powered cars for track use over the past several years as well. I have had three of them professionally tuned on a dyno and have always bee enamored by the guy sitting there with the laptop fine tuning my car's fuel, timing, injector duty cycles, etc.
I would really like to learn about that myself and be able to do the same thing on an amateur level. Would the EFI Live be a good starting point? I have heard the lb7 is one of the easiest engines to tune.

Thanks

There was a 2 day class in Vegas last month. I myself would like to see a EFI class somewhere in SoCal. I know quite a Duramax owners who would go to a EFT class if one was held locally. Where are you located??

I'm in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I figured if I could purchase it from a vendor possibly recommended via this forum, it would come with a couple of tunes. I could play with it a little and learn as I go. A class would be really cool

If you purchase a v2 it will come with a couple tunes. The thing that helped me the most was comparing tunes side by side. You can see the differences between them. Another awesome learning tool is the data logging function.

You will have problems if you try to read the tunes that the tuner gives you with the V2 since most of the well known tuners out there lock there tunes so you can read them. There is to many fly by the night diesel shops copying and selling tunes as there own.

Your best way to start is find a class around you or the books starlight diesel sells are vary helpful. I took his classes and hes pretty damn good. Also said diesels are a lot easier to tune.

Its all worth it though when you get the hang of it. :thumb:
