Efi live+ (pick a system monitor)

Thanks to anyone and all who answered some of my questions about my Dad's 04 lb7 lack of power! (No it's not fixed, but we are working on it!) But I got exited about doing EFI live again so I call a vender tuner for some info. Well I got shot down right out of the gate. I was told I cannot use my edge EVO on my truck, or my Dad's Banks on his for a system monitor. Even if it's returned to the stock tune. Can someone shed some light on this for me? Thanks.

probably becasue as long as they are plugged into the truck they add timing and what not to the truck program.

You need to look up an edge insight cts or cs, on your dads lb7 you can use serial switching and run his efi live dsp (if he goes that route) through the insight and change tunes on the fly, or use hardwire switching and install a switch if he wants more than a single tune.

The insight also has many PIDs you can choose from to monitor on the screen, and if you chose to install a dsp switch in your dads truck, the insight will not alter any programming, because it is a monitor, NOT a programmer, you just have the option to change tunes THROUGH the insight on lb7 and lly duramax trucks

I run an insight cs. It fits perfectly in the little cubby below the radio and is much cleaner than a dsp5 in my opinion. I use it to monitor desired rail pressure, actual rail pressure, Engine coolant temp, and which gear the tranny is in and the tc locked or not. I still run seperate boost and egt gauges though.

Just put EFI Live in our 2007.5 Duramax and have the Edge Insight CTS. We saw a video somewhere about programming the Edge for EFI. Now can't seem to find the video anywhere. Does anyone have a video that can help out?

Using the Edge Monitor to switch EFILive tunes is only available on LB7 and LLY ECMs. There was a hardware change from Dephi to Bosch for the ECM's on the LBZ and LMM which made it impossible to switch tunes via FlashScan or Edge - it's a hardwired switch or nothing.

All I want to do is use the data monitor part of my Edge Evo. And leave the tuning to EFI live. Edge says In "stock" configuration, It makes no changes to the tune. An EFI live vender told me I CANNOT do this because if the edge is connected it will make tune adjustments. Thanks.

I don't know - we don't support Edge products, or know them with enough knowledge to pass on advice. From memory there are some products in the market that do alter timing and other maps even when in the stock position. Perhaps its a question best directed to Edge.
