I did some searching and couldnt find any threads on this anywhere so... my freind had his truck tuned by some guy at a local shop with HP tuners. Long story short the guy doesnt know shit from sinola and his tunes run like crap. So i was going to tune his truck for him and put some decent tunes in it so it doesnt run like chit. The shop wants him to pay in order to put the stock tune back in his truck.

My question is can i just flash is ecm with EFI live without having the shop putting his stock tune back with HP tuners? i was thinking i could just do a full flash and put whatever EFI live tunes in it i want but im not sure if it will work. Im sure it doesnt matter but the truck is a LMM. Any input??? any help would be greatly appreciated

Haha Mike that sounds like a good idea:roflmao: But seriously, his tuner sounds like an ass.

Nick

he is a walking penis with ears i tried to reason with him today. I wanna post the tune up and let everyone check it out and see what was causing it to run so bad. I thought bully dog ran like shit until i rode around on this tune

Like said you would just do a full flash.

If you know your OS you might find another stock tune in here. I know Jason posted a few.

If its the same os you wont need to do a full flash. read the tune to check. Also might want to check the o against TIS and see if he even has the right OS in it to begin with. Other than that, flash away with a good LMM tune. Preferably a *94 OS as the *83 has the VATS no start issue.

Pull the tune and post it up. What does the guy want to return it to stock? My guess is he wants to charge for it because he doesnt have the stock file. Fix it and forget it. But meanwhile the shop name, phone #, and guys name would be nice to have.

Here is the website to the shop.

http://www.carolinaspeedshop.com/

This is the tune here. I drove it around and once i started to give it some throtle it fell flat on its face. I was curious if there would be any difference in a tune for a 08 lmm and a 2010 lmm? Ive only tuned lly's and lb7's. Didnt know if the 2010 had any diff tables than a 08 or anything.

I dont even see anything on the site to make me think they would know anything about a diesel.

not sure on the 08 to 10 thing as my truck is the newest of my friends lol.

Learn somthing new everyday. All 3 LMM tunes i have are the *83 os. IIRC VATS enables the starter to crank and sends a enable signal to the PCM for it to allow the injectors to operate ?? so what would happen if I ran into the no start issue??

I thought the same thing when i looked at their site and shop. I dont know what the kid was thinking... whatever he was thinking he is regretting now. I wasnt sure if there was a differnce because between the diff year LLM's. I saw where on the EFI live tune tool when you have the option to select which TCM to flash there is a 6speed option and a 2009+ option so i wasnt sure if there was any difference in tunes?? This is the First LLM i have ever meesed with lol

Im not sure what he wanted to return it to stock but feel free to call him and let him know what you think. I just cant believe people charge $250 to put in a single tune and it not even run right.

After so many key cycles you will get the security light and it wont crank anymore. There is a recall to have the 94 os put in on all LMMs. If that happens to you, you will have to full flash the 94 os into the truck to be operational again.

ECM tuning will be same in 07.5-10.

If his is an 08 one way to get a free stock tune would just be to take it into a dealer for the new OS recall, and just let them overwrite the HP tune. I recently had to have the recall done to my truck for the no start issue and they did it with no hassles.

Thanks for clarifying man. I didnt know if i had to go thru some long drawn out process to get it work again if that happened lol.

Any If anyone happens to have a Stock LMM tune OS 94* for a non DPF truck i could have it would be greatly appreciated. I checked all the tune library's on here and over on the DP but didnt find anyhting. I tried finding the table for regen and the dpf so i could cut it off but i didnt see it.

Use this one..
http://www.duramaxdiesels.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16137

Also turn off B2501 and set B2502 to zero, then shut all the DTCs off.

That will make it stock, but no DPF.
