last night i was trying to follow the instructions on efi website to do the june 22 update. i could not find the proper firmware numbers so i asked on the forum. i was told to install 7.5.4 before i could do the ungrade as it was contaned in that version. so i did this this morning, and i went to go forward with the firmware update and it says my firmware is now 2.05.xx and i need explorer to update it. ???????? what is explorer and where do i find it. i am very unsure on what is going on here and scared to hook this to my truck. please help

I agree this is not easy, I wish I could type better cuz then I would explain to you WTF is going on. Personally the V.7.5 and V8 install was a PIMA like PITA except different.
cilck on the start button at bottom left, then your program files, find the efi tab and click on the v8.1 and then click on efi explorer.
maybe that will help
x2. its actually easier imo with the exporer to update firm ware and what not. its just new so a little confuesing you will like it once you get the hang of it
okay guys sorry, i figured it out. all on my own 2. i re read everything 800 times and the answer was right in front of me the whole time. i only did the 7.5.4 install and not the v8.1 install were the explorer is. then i locked it in dead poll mode by mix matching the boot block and firmware. so i found the right firmware to go with what i had installed to get it working and started over updating it via the explorer program that i had now. so it is done. and yes it is much easier to update it now with the exlporer. just finding the updated firmware and boot block/lock whatever it is can be a little tough. thanks for the help.
i do like the torque management stuff now in the tcm, and cant wait to log bbl. you still cant tune standalone though right?

not yet, i did try to bbl last night and for some reason it would only show real time data in the view data pages. the record data pages will just read zeros down the line. i am going to build a new trans tune with defuel back into it so i will flash that tonight and see what happens. i have to do it at home just in case, so i can just hop in the honda in need be.
