Hi. My 2005 LLY 3500 GMC Duramax has an intermittent start issues. Replaced Ignition SW, Key Cylinder, NSBU sw, and Starter relay. Starter is relatively new and I have checked, there is no voltage to starter solenoid when no start condition exists. All fuses have been checked. Very intermitten, when it's warm in shop, never fails. When Daughter has it at school or cold in mornings or evenings (Live in Alaska) it will not start. Last time, I moved shifter many times and when I went down in the neutral it started, so..I will look at cable. I did not have the special tool to align the NSBU but I was careful. I will see If I can borrow from local dealer. Perhaps readjust cable?
The EFI info has me concerned though:
before getting into EFI Live. In EFI live, Transmission PIDs I always have the following values even when changing gears:
Gear Selector: Value unknown
Park/Neutral Switch: INGEAR
Transmission Switch: D2

I have cleaned all connectors under the hood and now cleaning the PNP (NSBU) connector. I opened the hood and checking for bad wiring and I will trace the harness. I'm looking for insight / feedback.
Tks, Ken

I should add that when I shift, the PRND321 works fine. The lamp is burned out on one end of the display. Curious if my readings are due to an EFI LIVE thing? I selected auto trans and LLY for computer when connecting.

Hi. I have the Allison 5 speed. Last night I found that I could select the Allison 5 speed controller in efi which I did. I then received input on PREVGEAR, GEARSEL. When playing back, disconnected from controller, I notice the play back omits RPM which was working and my BATTERY for trans is 0. I need to reconnect and review. I suspect that the PIDs GEARCOM, GEAR and PRND do not work with the LLY and or the Allison controller. Appreciate you help.
I uploaded my log file when connected via Allison 5 speed controller.
I uploaded my log file, just rename from .pdf to .efi

I would be interested if you solve the intermittent no-start issue. My son has that problem with his '05 lly. He uses a screwdriver at the sarter solinoid to get it started when that happens. I was thinking either the ignition switch or the NSBU switch but you seem to have those ruled out. I am left with some wire rub somewhere like the harness by the alternator bracket or under the driverside firewall.
