EFI helps me to a 13.69

I went to the track last night, (I had no intentions on going, so I was ill prepared, and my tranny may be finished

One run only, and during the 4th to 5th gear shift, it acted up real bad, then went back into 4th. (I then had no 5th, 1st, or reverse)

60 foot 1.959
330-5.944
1/8th- 8.88 @ 88.77 mph
1000-11.48
1/4-13.693 @ 98.280 mph

Looks like it may be time for a tranny upgrade, even thou I am not ready.

Isn't that the truth. I think we have all become jaded. We seem to forget we are racing 7000-8000 lb pickup's I was happy running 13.98 in Wendy and taking out a Lightning :lildevil:

I didn't get any logs, because I wasn't even planning on going, but ran into a friend that was going. I believe tomac was 13.30's about 3 years ago with a stock tranny. I don't remember for sure, but I know it was a lot faster then my times.

I was running the modified McRat tune for the LB7's, and I have the rpm set at 4500, I'd have to look into what it defuels at. I do know that it normally will shift at about 3350-3500 rpm under full throttle. (That is from the Logs I have done with EFILive)

I want to get to the track before the season is over.

P.S. I have a newer version that is almost done that drives on the street better and performs as good or better. 02freightrain has it.

Craig, I am not sure, but I think losing 1st, 5th, and reverse is far worse then limping. I know, if I had the choice, I'd take the limp every time.

There were a lot of vehicles there, I don't know how many, but I'd guess 160-200

The weather was about as good as it gets. upper 50's to low 60's, no wind, and very pleasant.

As for the updated tune, when you get it finished, you can send it to me, but I'll be down until I get the tranny addressed.

By the way Craig, Let me know if you go, I'll try to go for support. But no racing for a while.

When transcribing the times/speeds I inadverently typed the 1/8 mile speed as 88.xx instead of 80.xx, I guess I had to many 8's on this old brain.

Going by what the truck weighs most of the time, I'd say it was somewhere between 6800-7200#

There is no way that I could take 7/10 off of my times with just the tranny upgrade! It would be nice, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

It looks as if the tranny will live to see another day. I used the Quad 135 to try and clear any codes, now the tranny is shifting fine. I never thought it would clear up, and I didn't read the codes first, so I have no idea what codes there is that would make the tranny act up like it did.
Has anyone ever seen the tranny throw a code that took out 1st, 5th, and reverse?

I lowered the power setting until I can come up with a plan to get the tranny rebuilt!:nana:

i think he has done it like 30 times before he got a tranny
his always took out reverse and locked it in 3rd

mine did the same 3-4 times as ecc said and were the rpms high at 100mph
i lost reverse 3-4 times
the codes i set where incorect 5th gear ratio anything with TCM basicly

i think we need to start a "get hdmax his trans" fund
