Buddies ECM went bad so he had to replace. He had bought tunes from Dustin and vin lic but used my Efi v2. I went back to program and everything is the same but says the lic doesn't work? Any way to put the programs back in?

If its a new ecm from the one that you flashed with the Lic before it will need a new Lic to program it.
You would know but the tech said that eveything about the ECM is the same. So why would it not accept the new ECM?
EFILive license system is based on the ECM serial number, so while the program in the ECM is effectively the same for that truck, the serial number is different and needs to be licensed.
Shoot support an email support at efilive dot com, with a link to this thread and a copy of the dealer ECM replacement invoice and we can issue you a license at no charge. The only catch is it's Saturday afternoon and our offices are closed, so we won't be able to do this until Monday.
Please include your FlashScan Serial number and customer details.

Do you mean you bought your original license from Dustin? or a second license today so that you can tune this truck?
