Edge vs EFI live

With my Edge set at 125 horse tune the EGT's are around 1500. When get my EFI Live can I run a tune of 125 or 150 without my EGT's going over 1300 or a safe temp. Truck only has a 4" exhaust and Banks intake.

It will all have to do what who makes the tune or how the power comes on.

Or in english, to make 125hp tune, your fuel and boost and timing all need to be increased so if you make no other changes your egts are still going to be high. Some tweaking will make an efi tune run a little better and be better for your engine but the end result will still be similar egt's to a 125hp edge chip setting.

All of my customers that go from having an Edge on their truck to running my stock trans safe tuning have commented that their truck is faster with my tune but that EGTs don't get as hot. A well written 125-150hp tune shouldn't run very hot at all.

I didn't know, but McRat also has a tranny safe tune tune. When I bought my efi from Kat and sent my mods to McRat, he sent a tranny safe tune and also a race tune.
The tranny safe 1 I think Kat said is 160hp tune. My truck loves this tune. Shifted super smooth at wot and was faster than my Banks on 6 w/ SL. Egts spiked 1400, but stays 1250-1300 on wot.... The best part is that it pulls harder on top end.

The only trouble with over 1300* is if the temps are kept there for a while.

The truck still has the stock tranny so a 160 tow tune will probley kill it.
