Hey guys im thinking i want to buy one(cts2) for my birthday gift but im not sure what monitor to get. Ive been to the website and i guess im not sure what i need. I even called edge and they were telling me and trying to sell me one of everything I didnt need. Im looking for a unit that i can use manly as a monitor. Eventually i will upgrade to efi live so for now i dont need/want the juice or their tunes. So what does anyone have? How do you like it? Oh yeah and whats the difference in the models? (Pro, evolution, insight, and Ca version)

You want the edge insight. Great piece, just make sure you buy the eas add on so you can add multiple gauges.

Insight or insight pro? Isnt the pro better. Thought the pro is the same as the evolution but without the tunes.

Looks like the pro can do everything plus download tunes. I much prefer the ease of a dsp5 switch myself, but the power to you.

I have an Insight CTS2 on my LML.

The jury is still out, honestly. I like the ability to monitor multiple parameters and the ability to read balance rates and dtc's.
But the screen is difficult to comprehend at a glance, it's "busy" in the corner of my eye, and it looks aftermarket. Also it doesn't come on with the remote start.

I have the insight cts2 as well. Would hands down buy it again over standard gauges, partially because i think a pillar of gauges look dumb, but because it looks clean and can do so much.

I've got the original cts and pillar gauges too. Got the edge for backup camera and frp. As well as tune switching and balance rates. But honestly the EAS system is ridiculously overpriced. Plus like someone else said the cts is very busy and distracting out of the corner of my eye

I also like the dps5 myself and will get and use that once I have EFIlive. I would agree it could be distracting at times because of everything going on. I just dont want a pillar full of gauges. As for stock appearance, my interior is more on the worn side. Its an ex work truck. So for me its more of a toy to drive around the desert and pull a trailer. So stock interior fool/look doesn't bother me.

So you can connect 16 different items to this? Now what about switches, four or two? And you guys are right the addons are costly as hell

Depending on what you use your truck for you don't need a ton of the "addons". I got the cts2 with the egt sensor addon and that's it. You can completely customize what you want to monitor on the screen, so as some said before it looks "busy" but it really depends how do the layout on the screen. You can also choose to mount it anywhere you like whereas pillar gauges are..on the pillar. Most of the time I pay more attention to the cts than my dash because everything I should be monitoring is on there anyways.

I want a CTS2 myself but the thing that has me torn is I can't find a mount for the A-PILLAR for that or just regular gauges for that matter.

didnt even know there was a pro haha. I wish it had a bigger screen by a little.

Thing is definitely slick but not sure how much it really offers over the torque app for smartphones.

So what is the difference between the models? What sensors does anyone recomend. Also shouldent the egt probe be at a point of collection not just on one side?

One thing nobody mentioned is that the factory lly boost sensor only reads up to 22 or 23lbs. So the highest boost number you'll ever see on the cts is 22-23 unless you add one of the add on sensors.

I installed the Edge Insight a couple of months ago, then added the Egt and boost sensors on the LLY. Made the first long trip towing my 12,000# toy hauler going from 400' to 9200' elevation. After I got up here the egt sensor is acting wierd, showing 100 degrees one minute then 800 degrees the next. Seems to settle down if it stays above 700. I read where their egt probes have had issues but they are supposed to be fixed now. I'll get a new one when I get home in July. Everything else on the system works great but the boost gauge setup is expensive as you have to buy sensor setup and the wiring/plug setup.

So is the difference between the models only tuning then the pro has the ability to hold four tunes, and the insight is just a monitor? Do they all have the same functions?
