I'm up in the air right now trying to make a decision on these two gauge components.
Keep in mind these are only for monitoring purposes as I have efi live for my tuning tool. I've read a lot about the two watched countless YouTube videos to gain a real world feel for them. I'm drawn to the edge insigt due to functionality of it but I like the autometer dashlink cause it's wireless however I'll need a tablet with me at all times to use it. The edge is my first choice but I read where a lot of people have display failures and the autometer has problems with Bluetooth connectivity of the dongle and tablet/phone not picking the signal up and end-user frustration. Who out there has these and can give me a first person experience of which one to go with. any and all opinions are welcome I'm looking at putting either of these in all of my vehicles 06, 02, and my wife's 05 1500 5.3 suburban thanks in advance

IMHO,

Your reading too much into it, buy the edge and enjoy it. Everything fails, and everyone will complain about, both companies are pretty good with customer service. I like not haveing to worry about a secondary item like the tablet...

I have both a CTS1 and a CTS2 really the only thing i'm not happy with is the lag on the PID's, they also lack some pids, and delay between switching through menus. I'd be curious if the autometer's delay for pid on reading is better and if there is more pid's?

I just looked at the Autometer unit it looks like you cannot add additional sensors like the Edge unit? Available pids look even fewer, but the Pioneer radio app might be cool.

Here's another option for you. http://www.aeroforcetech.com/products_interceptor.html

Its the Aeroforce Interceptor scan gauge. You can run either a single or dual setup. I have the dual setup in my gas truck with the SoCal Diesel overhead gauge mount. You can either watch 4 PIDs at a time or setup the cyclic scan and have it switch between a number of PIDs.

The only problem I have ever had with them is on REALLY hot days, the LCD screens can get washed out until they cool down some. But other than that I like them a lot. I bought my whole setup used for well under half of what it wouldve cost to buy everything brand new.

I know I'm reading into it to much but I want something that works not something I'm gonna have to worry about failing . Alright well I'll go with the edge cts2 then that made it simple for me. I've already looked at the aeroforce interceptor I may add it in the cubby hole mount and use a obd2 male to two female splitter so I can use the cts2 and the aeroforce gauges. Thanks to all who have replied :thumb:

Fwiw Just something to think about I doubt it will work but curiousty has bitten me I'm going with the cts2 insight. The insight uses a hdmi plug could I use a hdmi spliter and run it to a tablet or laptop usb so as to have a bigger screen or will that work? Or would I be better off using a obd2 splitter so I can monitor and data log? Amazon sells a super nice piece its a obd2 low profile male to double female splitter with a 90 deg wire exit that will tuck nice and neatly away under dash anyone ever tried this? It looks like computer ribbon cables. would be cool to have cts2 and efi monitoring live data all the gauges with no clutter of pods. Just throwing ideas out there.

The Hdmi Is not being used for video. Splitting it would not give you video on another screen. It only carries the data from the truck and the additional sensors.

I have never tried running my cts and efi live at the same time. I have been told it is problematic with both units requesting things at the same time.

I like the edge cts2 just on the fact I can keep up with oil/fuel/ air filter changes and pull codes
