Can anyone tell me if I can switch out a ecm with different os on a 2006 lbz.both truck are the same year but I wanted to keep the stock one incase I had to take it back to the dealer and have another ecm with different os.

You can. But, sometimes when using a different OS it might do funky things.

Ok switched ecm and now it has the locked sign on the dash. How do I get rid of that to start it.

You have to program your VIN number into the new ECM. Go to Flash-->PCM Security-->VIN/BCC then type your VIN into the New VIN spot, and click Update VIN. You will probably have to burn a license to do that.

Thank you very much,Yes I do have efi.
I have licenced this ecm but it was in my other truck.will I have to buy another licence for it,but I cant even buy a xtra licence for some reason it says manual interception and they will get back with me but who knows how long that will be.I swear I am going to get a full head of grey hair before I get this thing figured out.

If the ECM you are using now was already licensed in your other truck, you will not need to license it again.
