So gonna start this task soon.

I'm pulliing them all into the cab on a really cool mount I made.....Pretty proud of it lol.

I plan to keep it real organized, do one wire at a time.

My question is, how is everyone keeping it organized when you make those snips of the wire clippers.

I was planning on just using a label for each wire, with its respective pin location on the plug.

But seems like it will take a shit ton of time labeling each one.....

FYI......I'm color blind.....FML

You can do it one at a time or like I did and just cut them all at once. Either way, don't use the alldata wiring schematics....thats where I went wrong

Is there anything special that is needed for wire? I seemed to remember someone saying that a few wires where extra sheilded or something to that affect

I used the schematic off gm upfitter and I ran into alot of issues.

All I can say is take your time, label everything, and take pictures before you tear it down.

It will be nothing compared to the time spent trouble shooting if you use another method and get even 1 wire crossed. Time spent up front will save you twice as much later.....

This is one of those tasks where there is no 5 minute shortcut (except for having a complete "altered" bench tested harness ready to go where you swap it out for the original....and even that is not a 5 minute ordeal).

It took me a week of scratching my head and brainstorming with buddies until I finally figured I pinned the injector wires backwards.

John, some electronic stores sell wire labels-- made to attach to the wires-- might be the way to do it. Some of them are not color-- just numbers.

Well for some, a cleaner engine bay with less wires in the way to give the engine a more "mechanical" appearance is the goal. A friend of mine Dustin dewired his and it looks great not to mention cuts wrenching time in half:thumb:

Good luck man. I'm colorblind too and it was a long process and all I did is move the wires from the top to running underneath. Take your time and label everything you will be good.
