ECM Swap question!

Will a, or should a 01 ecm work in a 03 truck?

A buddy of mine bought a wrecked 03 truck with a locked ecm, He has a 01 ecm we put it in the truck all is well it seems till you try to start the truck, it wont crank. i can scan, flash, read flash the truck with the 01 ecm but it just wont crank?

any ideas are greaty welcomed!

Flash in his operating system to the the 01 ECM and try that,If you havent done so allready

with the 01 and 03 there is a few differences in oil pressure and something else????

This ecm is wacked, I cant even get into it far enough to see what OS it is.
The 01 is a 3376 the 03 i dont know, The truck will run with the 03 ecm but efi or a tech 2 will not read it?

Mine was the same way when i bought my 01
I sent it to Guy and he got it fixed for me


You should be able to flash in any 03 op system and be good to go
as long as you take into account the fuel tank size:)

Dont have a clue if it will work or if its the right thing to do, just remembered reading it a while back. I like taking shots in the dark :D:hug:
