First, disconnect everything, close all applications, turn off key.

Now turn on key to RUN
Plug EFILive unit into computer (ding)
Plug it into the OBDII port
Start up EFLive Tuning tool.

Try again.

If something in Windows gets tongue tied, it can cause that response, so make sure everything starts from the beginning.

If that doesn't work, you need to make sure you have updated the V2 with the latest firmware and software.

If the firmware and software do not match, it will do that on LBZ's, but not necessarily LLY/LB7 (not sure which you have).

The 2006 lly's are completley diffrent aside from the 5 to a 6 speed transmission if you look at an 05 with the hood open verse an 06. and ive also heard The 06 lly is the lbz just with lly tuning.

The guy who posted has either a LB7 or LLY, I can't tell. Since he posted the absolute least amount of info possible, I had to make the assumption that his EFILive works on his truck, but not his customer/friend's truck.

But that does pose an interesting point.

What if you tell EFILive that it's a LLY when it's a 06LLY which is really an LBZ?

Dunno, never tried that. Perhaps that is his problem.

Sometimes this occurs after right after licensing. As a general rule after licensing, I always shut everything down, disconnect and start over before trying to install a tune.

i have just updated everything so that is all good. and this is on a 06 lly

pat this is a continuation from another post a few days ago that fell apart, i am sorry for the little info. this is happening when i try to download the stock tune off the truck.

i have done 6 other tucks and i have never had this problem. i have tried alt keys no high speed, and tried selecting lly or lbz. we think that there may be a hypertech or superchips loaded onto the truck from the previous owner. is this what it would do if that were the case.

i dont have access to another lbz. but i just tried it on 2 lb7s and a 05 lly right now and it worked fine

Here's what happened with me. I updated the software, without updating to the latest firmware, and it would work perfect on our LLY. But it would not work with the LBZ. Only after I updated the firmware would it work. Guy Tripp suggested that.

The latest firmware is automatically copied to the EFILive software directory when you update the software. You must still install it to the V2. Read the procedure for firmware update in the docs. This computer I'm on doesn't have EFILive on it, or I'd be more help. I know it's been posted several times.
