DVT in the scan tool

I would like to be able to hold a gear wile on the dyno. I see in the DVT section under the allison 5 speed TCM you can do it but I am not sure how to get it to work. I have it activated but it doesn't seam to hold the gear I want wile I am driving. Is there a trick to it? Thank's

with out having it hooke up to my truck i think you have to push the activate button then there should be a check box in the corner of the gear that you want to select. check this box then click on the tab for that gear

That's what I did but it still shifted through all the gears.

well my suggestions would be to go through those steps just in different orders. i cant remember what the order is for getting it to lock in to gear

you also need to set the dvt controll settings for mph in your tcm or it will deactivate after 40 mph or so
