Well..........I'm not sure what "dvt" is...........but it sounds like your reffering to the overdrive lockout switch on the gear selector????????
I didn't think the 02' trucks had that option. You do have a "tow/haul" mode (will illuminate a trailer on the dash) and thats NOT going to force the truck out of 5th gear. It just changes the shift 'strategy'. My 01' truck was this way and it kind-of sucked not being able to control the 4-5 and 5-4 shift when needed.
I am, of course, only going by the truck in your sig. You may be working with something else????

At what rpm does it up shift?

There is a table in the TCM that limits the rpm of bidi/dvt control

3250 if remember correctly. I'm gonna take it to another dyno to try and put some load on it. Do I just reflash the tcm with a higher wot upshift for the 4- 5 upshift to keep it out of fifth? The dvt responds fine and it will prevent upshifts just not downshifts.

Thats what I was thinking but the d@#m tcm would take a tune that day I'm gonna try it again here soon and see what happens. Is this what most people are doing to keep it in fourth?
