Duramax Topkick tuning!!!!!!!!

so i need to know if the topkick style trucks with the duramax engines have the same tuning capability as our pickups. is the prom connection the same, and can you get the same amount of hp out of a topkick that you can out of a pickup. i need to know as i am in the market for one and want to know if it is possible before i purchase it.

i believe as long as it has the 6600 series motor and not the 7800 series you're ok.

what is the difference between 6000 and 7800 series

The 6.6 Duramax is the same as in the 1 ton and smaller trucks. It is found in the C4500 and C5500 series Kodiaks and Topkicks. The C6500 and up, do not have the 6.6 liter Duramax motor but have a 7.8 liter inline 6 cylinder.

The fuel filter is on the driver's side

6600 series is a 6.6L Duramax like what is in the 2500-3500 trucks. The 7800 is a 7.8L straight 6.

so the 6000 series can be tuned as gnarly as a regular pickup then does anyone know if the prom where efi plugs in is the same as a pickup also

Yes the OBD II port is the same and you can tune the engine with EFI Live. It is the 6600 series 6.6L. A 6000 series is a 6.0L gas and doesn't come in the topkick. You can get an 8100 (8.1L) Vortec gas in a topkick. EFI live can tune those as well.
