So i was driving down the high going about 85ish. And the check engine light come on and just fell on its face. With it to the floor only 2200 rpms and really spurty. No smoke at all. And nothing done to the truck all stock. Any ideas whats wrong with her? 05 GMC 2500 with an lly

Codes? What we do know is your truck went into limp mode and will not go over 2000(ish) RPM's. Codes may help us tell you "why".

No codes yet on its way to the place i bought it. now that it has cooled off while waiting for the tow truck the check engine has turned off

The place i bougt it said they did an oil change and a fuel filter when i bought it and the fuel filter % says 85%

Also could be low rail pressure my 05 was notorious for that Ppe shim kit or race valve. Limp mode will still let the truck go over 2k.

Ya the valve in fuel rail sticks mine did it stock and with banks had to shim it now have max effort efi tune and it's fine

You need to figure out why it is happening. I don't see a FPRV pop open just cruising very often; it mostly happens because of a fuel pressure spike caused by going from a high load situation to a low or no load situation (such as accelerating around someone to pass and then letting off). It would be best if you could hook up a scan tool of some sort and watch what the rail pressure is doing and/or do a bottle test (search bottle test to find out how to do that).

Driving 85 on stock tune I'd say he was tippin into it a little bit
