It's even better when you start to read the comments left by "other than duramax owners/fans"

I've always thought the GM/duramax/Allison combo was a winning compilation of parts, i would happily take some interior refinement/creature comforts from GM like a roomier cabin and higher quality finish/trim, but you'll never catch me driving anything else...

So the ford makes more HP and tq but its still slower? Not surprised

The Ferd was actually the "fastest" in every loaded towing test tho...
But I'm not so sure about every truck pulling equal weight? It looked like each manufacturer tested was pulling the same trailer but not the same load as they were all hauling their own brand of truck on the trailer..

I don't know if the testers decided that was the best way to prove that there was no foul play happening with a visual representation of the weight being hauled or what, but we all know that between the BIG 3, the trucks don't all weigh the same...which kinda takes some validity away from the test...and aren't GM's the lightest of the group? Which in my eyes, takes some accomplishment away from GM cuz one of the contributing factors to GM's win was the front brake temp readings both loaded and empty:baby:

I didn't read all the different tests, I skipped to the end and they just mentioned gm truck was faster and got 2mpg better loaded.

It did list the weights of the trucks and trailers for all the tests on the overview page. Here's the info.

I think the lower gearing in the transmission is what really helped the Ford accelerate so much better with the trailer. It would have been interesting to see them hit the grades at highway speed and see which one was able to maintain the highest speed.

agreed. Looking at how well the dodge came on during the back half of the towing test showed the cummins torque during converter lock up.

I'm ready to tow my camper with the new truck and see how well it handles it. The old truck with the twins would accelerate up hills with ease, I hope this one just maintains 70-75 :thumb:
