I thought PPE was making a harness.

AFAIK they modify stock harnesses. Either you send yours in and they change it or they buy a brand new one from GM, change it, then bill you for the new harness. At least that's what I was told when I called about a year ago. Maybe they're doing them different now. :dontknow:

Get a subscription to ALLDATA and build one yourself. I for one couldn't justify sending $1200 of my money to PPE to build one when it only took me a few hours to custom mod mine and fit it into my existing fuse panel. I know I'm better with electrical than most are, but it's really not that hard if you have the full diagrams.

Agree with the Alldata supbcription.. Well with the little cash for details ya get.

If anyone's interested I am looking to upgrade my 05 standalone harness to an 06. Was done by PPE while back, would trade ECM, FICM, and harness for a stock 06 harness.

What should a guy expect to pay to have 05 LLY heads redone? Or would it be cheaper to purchase new ones?

Shop I use charges 800. That’s pressure checked, decked, intake side decked depending on how much the heads were decked, new valve guides, new seals, valve springs pressure tested and shimmed, cleaning, valve job and valve stem trimmed (recessed as well if heads needed that much cut down).

You have 32 valves to deal with and the possibility of needing valves recesses. If you find stuff a few hundred cheaper and “fully rebuilt”, I’d be very skeptical

$800 is for two heads, right?
