First, idk if this is in the right section or not, so move if necessary. thanks n sorry.

Ok, i was wondering if anybody has them or has experience with them. But i have some questions.

Seems that the Meyer insert bed says it can be installed and removed in minutes. Was wondering if it really can be that easy or not. http://www.meyerproducts.com/InsertDumpBed.aspx

The DumperDogg insert bed is pretty nice, but they dont have any real info on it. like specs and what not. http://www.dumperdogg.com/index.html

Oh and the other one i found was makes you normal bed into a dump bed, what are your thoughts on that? can hold 4k pounds. but idk if you can use a goose neck hitch or not

Thanks for any input or help

I had one in my old ford f-350 and it utilized the factory bed bolts to secure it in place. Assuming you have a piece equipment to pick it, I suppose it would not be to hard to put it in and pull it out. On mine the electric over hydralic pump was self contained and built into the dump body frame work. You would probably need some sort of switch and quick connect to disconnect the power lead to the pump or you would have to deal with feeding the wiring back through the bed/cab every time. The only way I can think of still using your goosneck would be to build or have built a trap door to allow access to the hitch. I would not even consider converting your box to a dump bed, the inserts are much nicer and when your done you can pull it out and still have a nice bed thats not all dented and beat to sh!t...;)

Bobcat would probably work but I'm thinking by the time you get your bucket centered for lifting 4 straps your going to run into 2 potential problems. 1. not enough lift with the extra height of the insert + straps to clear your bed sides or 2. Not enough distant's between the bobcat and bucket to get the insert in the center of the truck before hitting the bed side with the machine. A set of forks on the bobcat would probably work lifting it from the gate end with the insert strapped to the forks assuming you have a good size machine? Just thinking aloud here, I'm sure you will figure it out on your own:) BTW,, I added 2 leaf's to the back of the Ford to compensate for the extra weight for the insert plus some, The dump insert will dump more then the truck will safely carry;)

I've had the best luck with the maxi dump brand, for the last 15 years. I still have it, its been transfered into 3 different trucks. Its made by BOSS.
