Dually wheel spacers

I need a little more space between the dual tires (2007 duramax classic), but not enough to need the larger spacer. How much can you space them with standard style spacers without having to go with the bolt on spacers.

Problem is anything less than the 2" spacers (bolt on or wheel lugs re-studded) will require you to cut your stock studs. Putting say just a 1/2" spacer ,no studs, won't leave you with much left to bolt on the wheel.

A 1" spacer is ideal but you'll have to cut wheel studs resulting in never returning to stock
