HI,
I want to install a second ODB2 port.
Can anyone tell me if it is as simple as connecting the wiring to the existing (splicing it in) ??

I have an edge unit with the 5 tunes, and I want to go and use a Digital dash board doing away with the factory one. Using some thing Like Shadow Dash MS on the android Tablet and a Blue tooth ODB2 connector.

Issue is the Edge unit is already plugged into the ODB2 port.

Any help with ODB2 second connector would be apreciated.

I believe there was a write up on how to do it over at diesel place at one point and time but would there not be communication issues with something like this. I know if a truck has an aftermarket remote start that is wired into the obd2 I have to unwire to be able to communicate to the ecm with my V2.

has anybody ever tested to confirm you can run two things at once?

My insurance company wants me to put one of those driver monitor things in my truck, but since I have gauges hooked up I'd like to get a 2nd port.

Also from reading that link you posted looks like the LBZ is a bit different

I tried using a splitter and using my Edge gauges and data logging with my V2 and it would not work, this was on my 09 LMM.

There would have to be a one way kind of set up. Like if you connect a splitter to a water line it goes whichever way it wants. So you use a check valve.

Otherwise it's pulling information from whatever is feeding it.

Lol great idea. Till his kid takes the truck.

You can take it out before you get on it. Wouldn't leave it in on the track haha
