Dual Fuelers vs Injectors?

Can somebody explain the theory behind the dual fuelers vs just getting bigger injectors? Is it just a rail pressure thing that makes the bigger hp gains more possible? Either way the object is to get more fuel into the cylinder right?

You need the dual fuelers to keep your rail pressure up to feed the bigger injectors and/or the bigger tune. The better the rail pressure is the better the bigger tunes will run

There's got to be more to it than that though, just using bigger nozzles you can be dumping fuel to the point that you'll never burn it all.

as you dump more fuel the rail looses PSI the PSI atomizes the fuel better so you are getting a better combustion. Just dumping in lots of fuel with no atomization is a recipe for hydro lock !

The CP3 controls how much fuel CAN be pumped into the engine.

The injector size controls how long it takes to spray it in.

We made 797rwhp at 4400? RPM on pump diesel with stock LiLLY injectors.

Unless you are a max effort sled puller, big Nitrous, or sub-11 second drag racer, spend your money elsewhere, IMO.

PS - I'm a dealer for Dynomite Diesel, I can get you injectors. I just don't recommend them to most folk.

Injectors usually work better with another CP3 added but it is not absolutely necessary. In your case the injectors are so much bigger than stock that it is probably something you should look into. The truck can run fine just you won't see any gains over stock injectors.

Oh, and tuning them is way easier with twin Cp3's too.

IIRC I saw a thread with you talking about larger injectors making less cylinder pressure and being better. I could be wrong. I am looking at taking it to the next step. Fuel or air (I like the twins from mpi) Care to elaborate???

With larger injectors, you don't have to run stupied amounts of timing with the stock injectors to achieve the same power.

Tuning is key with large injectors. Peak cylinder pressure can and most of the time is higher with big injectors. How many stock injector trucks have had problems vs. bigger injectors.

With your injectors I would like to have the extra cp3. More pressure in the rail will only help you.

I'm running ~23k actual at the moment with the biggest ATS sticks... like it was said above, tuning is everything imho.

im running a big set of injectors and it does not run right without a 2nd cp3.
with the race tuning and my single is a modified cp3.

While on the subject of dual CP3's vs. bigger injectors, is a guy "all in" with addition of either or both of these mods? At what point do you sacrifice drivability or any semblance of mileage, assuming of course you also have sufficient air and tuning?

I couldnt ask my truck to drive any better with 2 cp3's and HTT turbo. It actually drives better than stock in the lower throttle areas.

Over the past 3 weekends I have put about 1800 highway miles (and in-town miles) on my truck. The twin CP3 and 60% oversize nozzles have not hampered driveability. While cruising down the highway I set the cruise control at about 68mph. Over a 1200 mile weekend I averaged 19mpg (taking into account city & highway driving). Twin CP3s and oversize nozzles need a well thought out program but they will not ruin a daily driver.
