We are trying to put a Dsp 5 switch in a buddies truck. Got the pins in and flashed the new tunes in and now there is relays clicking and it will not attempt to turn over.

Okay we swapped a different ECM and its doing the same thing. The edu relay and glow plug relay is both clicking. My buddy said it gets to the reboot part of the reflash and that's when it starts.

What version of EFILive are you using? Make sure you have the pins in the correct positions, sounds like you do not.

Neither of the ecm's will allow me to upload the stock tune to them, I will double check pin positions in the am but I am 100% positive that they are installed correctly, it's not my first rodeo, but definitely the first one that's acted like this.
When I put the second ECM on everything was fine, until I started the full reflash and as maxaholic said when it tries to reboot the ECM it starts going haywire, solenoids start clicking and the cel and glowplug lights are flashing with the sloenoids... I'm lost on what's causing this, has anyone run into this problem before?

Picayune, Ms
Ok did you try to flash it before you put the dsp switch in ? If not then try it, take the pins out of the ECM then flash it. Then reinstall the dsp5. I had trouble with the ground and had to ground it ti the truck instead of the ECM.

Thanks towboat I'll give that a shot in the morn.
I can see where it might be a ground issue with the way the solenoids are clicking on and off.

Ditto that ^^^^ and unhook any other after market electronic device that may be installed. What year is it?? I've found that 05 LLYs seem even more sensitive to this then other years. I had an 05 here for a week once, unhooking stuff and trying to flash it. That guy REALLY loved hardwiring in every possible piece of after market electronics money could buy lol.

Ok guys I pulled fuses checked and rechecked dsp switch(finally just unhooked it) efi will not even attempt tomflash the ECM, will talk to it but won't flash, it keeps saying that the lock has been rearmed, then the rejected bootloader window comes up.

I am about to put the third ECM on another truck, reflash with stock tune and be done with it, if that even works...

Exact issue I had on an 05. The MDI or tech 2 at the dealer wouldn't even flash it. Have a brake controller in the truck or any other electronic devices hooked up? actully two 05s did the same thing. Both times, unhooked brake controllers and aftermarket devices, turned off the domes hvac and radio leaving all fuses in place and it worked. It's something with the vehicle. I swapped ecms to different vehicles and everything on the first one.
