I've read that NHRA requires driveshaft loops for vehicles running 11.50 to 13.99. My question is where should they go to pass tech (front, rear, or both) and what dimension materials are required? And would the u-joint shields that I've been seeing take the place of a drive shaft loop for tech purposes?

From the 08 NHRA rule book pg 68 General regulations.

"Driveshaft loop required on all cars running 13.99 (8.59) or quicker and utilizing slicks; except vehicles runing 11.49 (7.35) seconds or slower equipped with street tires."

Times in (*) denote 1/8 mile times.
