I just ordered a new set of 18x9 mkw wheels and in trying to decide on a tire and tire size that will work best. I've looked at the nitto 420 but the largest size I could find is 255/55r18 but I'm not sure if they are large enough. I've also kind of looked at the toyo proxes. The truck is lowed with shackles 2 inches in the back and the torsion bars are lowered as much as possible. This truck will be mainly drag raced and drove on the street occasionally but other than that it will sit in the garage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cut a 1.71 60' on my second pass on 285 70 r17 nitto dune grapplers. I haven't had a chance to put a lot of miles on them yet but so far I'm happy with them.........and I kinda like the way the tread pattern looks.

Yea I know there are more options in the 20s but I've always liked 18s better not sure why.
I've also love the way the dune grappler looks just didn't figure that would be a good tire to invest in if it was only going to be used one the track

I've been trying to find a nice street slick tire and I haven't had much luck, I've found like 1 or 2 options. I'll look them up when I get home and find the brand of them.

The 17inch drag radials would probably be ok once in awhile but why not just swap or drag radials for the track? Takes 5 minutes a wheel

I'd rather not have to swap out wheels to race at this point maybe latter down the road when y truck is built. But the 255/55r18 nitto 420 is 29inches tall so would that tire not be ok to go with?

So if it's going to be street driven most of the time I'd run a 285/60R18 Toyo Proxes ST II. It's 31" tall and you'll be happy with them, they're no DR but your options are very limited.
