I want to start racing my truck and be able to drive it daily. Is there a parts path I need to take? I only have the intake and exhaust for now. I'm not a newb to racing or engines, just diesels.;) Any help would be appreciated. :)

Here's a list, somewhat in priority if your hunting for low 13's to high 12's.

1. tranny upgrade, Mike L. is who you talk to for this. He's an Allison god and a member here.

2. front end support. This will keep both front wheels pointing the same direction during 4x4 launches.

3. lift pump of some kind.

4. Fuel Pressure Relief Valve mod. You have an LLY and this a cheap fix to make sure you are making power.

5. Good tuner or tuning software. McRat racing has you covered here, you can get a PPE tuner which is the best handheld for LY's or you can get EFI Live which will give you total control over all engine parameter's. Either one can be purchased by dialing the phone number at the top of the website.

That's a short list of the things that you'll need to put on your mostly stock truck to fly down the 1/4 mile. Notice the Tuner is last, that's because without at least a transmission upgrade the tuner is a waste of money because it will hurt the trans in time. You can run it on lower settings or get someone to make you a small tune, but that's no fun and the temptation is always there to blast that transmission to peices.:D

EDIT: I see you're in TLH. I believe Suncoast is right down the road from you in Fort Walton Beach. They are excellent with Allison's.

Thanks for the info! I will research #2,3,and 4 on your list. I have the EGR blocker plate and finger stick ready to install. Like you said, I have purposely been avoiding the tuner until I can get some tranny work. Thanks again for the reply.

We run Cognito braces and SD tierod sleeves on 2 of the 3 trucks. Casper is the only one with the SD Centerlink.
