Call Kat, a diamond eye will bolt right in, is there a reason why you want to eliminate the flange?

Almost anything is possible but I would get a left sided trans dipstick because that will get in the way for a pipe that big. It's already pretty tight as it is.

Just get a diamond eye or a bigger turbo,Kat has both in stock:D

Mike L or Trippen have the left handed dipstick and they are very nice!

Volume 2, Issue 3, Page 86, Diesel Tech Magazine shows a 3 1/2" ID Turbo down pipe by DDP, I wonder if this would be an iomprovement over the 3" Diamond Eye

I didn't know Diamond Dallas Page made downpipes!

Can a 3 1/2" be fit in there without moving the tranny dipstick?

Diamond eye is definitely 3".

The 3.5" might be a bit better but you have to get rid of the 3" neck at the start of the front pipe. With that still in place it would be the biggest restriction.

I didn't think about that, your right though, a little fab work would be needed to make the gain worth the cost, and then there may not be enough gain anyway

I just made a braket to push my dipstick back towards the firewall. With this I was able to fit a 3 1/2" dp and 2" up-pipe:baby: Prob going to try making a 4 1/2" or 5" dp for her:p

I might have been able to fit 4 1/2" after seeing how the 4" went in
but I also dont have the dipstick there.

the tightest spot is right at the bottom of the firewall where the tunnel starts

unless we went with oval tubing?

With my headers that is prob the most open spot;), could deff fit 5" right there. Stock up-pipe run in about the center of the head, mine is up around the center of the valve cover....lots more room:D

Its the old stocker but it shows how much more room

you wont have to worry about this on the 01 anyway haha
