Well I feel dumb but I can't open my driver door, it is locked and cannot be unlocked from inside our outside. The lock mechanism is jammed or something and the relay rod to the inside lock is stuck. I think I know what's wrong but I need the door open to get the door panel off. Any ideas...

I don't think youll be able to get the screw on the very bottom of the door panel while it's closed.

You might be able to pull up on it just enough and pull it back to seperate the panel from the door with the bottom screw in and work on it that way. Either way I think about it is gonna be a pain in the ass

I was thinking just try to get the top of the panel pulled back and leave the bottom and try to get into the rod and get it popped open that way.

Maybe call a locksmith, might be able to pry the door skin away from the window enough to get to the lock mechanism. I had to have it done on my buddy's F250 I borrowed. Turns out that you can't lock the door and leave the engine running and use a key fob to unlock the truck:mad: stupid fords...

Finally had a chance to look at it. Popped the panel loose at the top after taking the top two screws out. Used a 2ft long flat head screwdriver and manually actuated the door lock and got the door open. Popped off all the relay rods off and took out the actuator/latch assembly and found this... Broken piece of plastic around the one screw stops the entire thing from working...

In this case it doesn't matter how it was set up it broke in such a way that the inside handle wouldn't have opened it either. Luckily though I got it open. Shitty thing is a new actuator and striker are $200  it's the striker that's bad but why would I replace it and leave the old actuator in chances are it will go bad soon haha
