Does boost need to be adjusted along with pulse width?

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum and new to tuning. I have an 07.5 LMM, for now it is stock with a PPE Standard programmer, but I am going to get an exhaust system soon and hopefully buy EFI Live as well to get started in the tuning process.

I've read the Mcrat 20/20 tutorial and it seems to explain the basics fairly well. My question is, since we are adjusting the pulse width to inject more fuel into the cylinder, doesn't the boost pressure need to be increased to maintain a proper air/fuel ratio?

I know the air/fuel ratio isn't as important with a diesel as with a gas engine, but in my mind, even though the ratio isn't as critical more fuel should still be accomanied by more air.

Does the ECM do this automatically, or is there some parameter that should be changed in EFI Live to achieve more boost pressure, or is it something that I don't need to worry about?

Thanks
Randy

TX of course
Yes but you can add a bit of fuel (maybe 15%) before you need to add any boost. There is a boost table to adjust.

go to efilive.com and you can download the tuning software for free

in my personal experience it is easier/safer to just buy your tunes from someone who does it for a living
