Sorry I'm not sure where to post my question but I'm having some trouble with my wife's equinox and didn't know if any of you guys have one or could help me out, it's a 2008 chevy equinox, the service traction control and service stabilitrac light keep coming on and sometimes it goes off but majority of the time they stay on, does anyone have an idea what causes this or have had this problem, also the ABS light comes on with the other two lights

I would guess a wheel speed sensor. You should be able to pull codes with a good scan tool and find out why they're coming on.

X2 for wheel sensor.

The cavaliers were infamous for breaking the wires to the speed sensor, and when they did, they would throw all of the lights like you are mentioning the equinox is.

When i repaired one recently, I used my efilive to scan and it gave me the code for which wheel sensor was "bad"- turned out to be the wire broken inside the connector so be cautious of that too

It could be numerous issues that are setting it. I would lean more towards the steering angle sensor than a wheel speed sensor. Check engine light isn't turning on is it? If certain problems set in the ECM it disables the Traction and turns on all the lights as well.

I will look into the speed sensor but I have read online with the equinox it throws the stabilitrac and traction control light but won't throw a engine check light, I have a code reader I will hook it up to tomorrow to see if it is throwing any codes, I've heard multiple things from different people, from the computer is going bad to it causes the trans to go to the EGR needs to be cleaned so I'm lost

The same with a lot of gm gassers. A misfire will set a stabilitrac light..

Your problem is probably a wheel bearing / wiring harness to the bearing assembly along the control arm. I see that 95% of the time
