Do I have enough???

bought a 5gal pail of transend and a allison deep steel pan. I am doing the transgo this weekend, and was going to drail, spin, refill, drive and then drop the pan and do the TGo. will I have enought to do this with 5 gals?? sure hope because the place I got the fluid only sells in 5 gals amounts and 170.00 is a lot of money for 5 gals if I only need a gal..tks ...

Why are you changing fluid before the transgo work? Standard drain/refill is 7qts, I think the Allison deep pan is 12qts. Did you buy a filter lock?

If you decide to do it that way, you are going to be right at the limit of needing an extra qt or two depending on how much the valve body leaves behind IMO.

Standard drain and fill I have found is 7-8 quarts if your quick about it. Also keep in mind if you let it sit overnight before you drop the pan the converter could bleed back and you can get close to 10-11 quarts out easily. Dropping the pan and valve body will take 9 quarts easily. Also if you take the trans lines loose when you drop the pan and filter you can get almost 12 quarts out pretty easily.
