I was at the dealer today talking Dmaxes with my friends there.

We were talking about Lift pumps when one of the parts guys said a DMAX Van comes stock with a lift pump.

Is this true? Whats the scoop on it? Would be nice to have a "factory" lift pump if its worth anything.

So if you have one cool, but if not no bother sounds like.

Just wander why the van has one and trucks dont. Curious.:joker:

Are they "in tank" pumps?
If you unplug it, what error code do you get?

What might be interesting is if a van has a factory fuel supply pressure sending unit that could be adapted to pickups.

Heres what I know about the lift pump. They couldnt fit the fuel filter in the engine compartment so they put it and a seperate water seperator on the frame rails right in front of the fuel tank. The fuel filter is the same filter as the trucks. I have not been able to locate the other filter/seperator aftermarket. I know its a racor, but when I talked to the racor dealer he said he could get it, then called me back and said GM exclusive part. No hand pumping, its self priming. I put a picture of it in the van group under "community/social groups" GMpartsdirect lists the lift pump for my van for seems like under $300.
Its rated at 10 psi
Someone told me its not on all the time ???????

If anyone can find out more, I'd like to know...

I'd like to know if it has a gph rating, had a gm parts guy look that up....nothing

If its not on all the time, can efi control it to make it on all the time, or is it not enough of a lift pump for that?

And, Can I replace it with an aftermarket truck lift pump?

Im pretty sure thats the secondary fuel filter, its a canister filter. Heres the filter http://lubricationspecialist.com//L...x?path=/productimages/R58080/R58080R58080.jpg

That looks similiar, but a little too small. Dont know if the pic is distorted or maybe its the Cuervo distorting me.
So far I've only been able to get it at the dealer, and my baldwin supplier cant even cross-ref it. Dealer hits me at something like $110!!!:ripped::ban-hump: for the kit, both filters.

I skipped the one filter change the last time. Just changed the baldwin that I know was the same as the truck. got tired of the Chevy dealer pricing.
