Just a question about material selection for making a set of 3" diameter boost tubes. What are most of the aftermarket tubes made of? Mild steel, stainless steel, or aluminum? I want to make a set and need to get them going as i have dragged my feet most of the winter and now its crunch time. Just need to know so i can go ahead and order some tubing and bends.

thanks in advance

You can use any of 3 you want. Depends on how much money you want to spend. Aluminum would he my first choice if you have the equipment to weld it. Less weight and decipates heat better.

Steel would definitely be the easiest in terms of cost, ease and availability but my only concern would be rust on the inside of the tubing over time. I have one of those Eastwood DIY powder coating guns and thought maybe being able to coat the inside of the tubes at the same time i coat the outside but doubt it would work that good plus it could flake off. Stainless would be my choice but dam that stuff is expensive lol. This hobby is a crazy expensive lol oh well haha
