I've got a triple pillar set of gauges, and I'm looking to have them dim with my other gauges. Where can I safely tie them in without popping fuses? Thanks

I always get the light power for the gauges from the dimming wire that goes to the radio. Gauges only light up when the 12 volt signal that tells the radio to dim is present and also allows you to dim the gauges just like everything else. Works perfect.

I have mine hooked up to the back of my headlight switch and tied into the dash illumination circuit. I believe the wire color is purple with a white stripe.

Do you happen to remember what color that is, or does anyone have a wiring schematic?

90% sure mine is tapped into the brown wire as well. Installed them in 09 or so, but pretty sure its brown wire.

wrong...

radio backlighting is dimming is controlled with a Class 2 data message on 2003+ radios. There is no "dimmer wire" going to the back of the radio.

Tap into one of the wires going to the back of the headlight switch. I forget which one it is...I think its brown/white, but Im not 100% sure on that.

I guess mine is tapped into a non existent magical wire.

I will double check it tonight.
