Don't know if this has been suggested before,


I know when I view my email/ebay/facebook etc they give me a 'lite' version when viewing on my phone with less pictures.

I know I can manually turn sigs and avatars on and off, but is there a way for the site to know if I'm on my computer or phone?

I use sprint and get the whole site.

I don't know. It tells me that the pages are too large to be broke down enough for it to work on my phone. I only have a motorola V950 renegade.

Well you have another option. When you connect now there is a Mobile style that you can choose. It is in the lower left corner of the screen. Pull down the menu and select Mobile. When you connect with your computer you will probably have to select the style that you normal use. So mobile users will have to select depending on what you are using.

This style is for an older version of vBulletin so let me know if you have any problems with it. You will need to let me know exactly what you were doing and what the error was so I can try and replicate it.

Looks like it gets rid of the pics, smilies, and condenses the list when browsing the forums.

Should be a lot easier than going in and manually turning sigs/avatars on or off.

And I can submit a fast reply too, before when on my phone it wouldn't let me, I had to go advanced to reply.

I'll be a post whore in no time now!!

try switching to the mobile version on your computer then sign in on your phone.

I use a moble browser called opera mini. It works great on the blackberry and its free to download. I'm sure it works with other phones.

just signed back on from my laptop, it still shows all the pics and stuff. looks like it works, i'll try the phone again to see if it remembers the settings for the phone
