Upcoming on a build i was going to do next weekend. my trucks an 04.5 lly 4x4. I was planning on just doing a gmax 5-3 kit and converter along with mikes pressure regulator spring and eliminating converter knockdown. truck has max effort tuning but will be daily driven a 60ish hp tune. anyways, a friend of mine has a core 2001 trans and its 2wd. Its super low mileage (20k). I know that I could basically have the entire front done and wouldn't be in any kind of time rush to go through it. My question is, is it as simple as swapping my extension housing and output shaft over? if not, what all would have to be swapped?

I also read something about late 03' they swapped cooler line sizes...is it possible to just swap the cooler quick connect fittings or is the case itself different?

I am just curious as I could built it as I have time or come up with any troubles. Thanks

Cooler fittings are wrong on the bell housing. Valve body does not have a G solenoid to make your TCM happy. '01 trans needs a bunch of updates like pump bushing, stator support bushing, sealing rings, and springs on the lube valve. '01 input shaft uses the small Torrington bearing which is not the one I recommend. '04.5 uses the larger Torrington.

Oh alright....I wasn't concerned about the g solenoid I would of flashed an older OS in if needed if the trans would be unhappy.

But seems as if its too much work
