i was thinking it would be cool to hear from the guys that started this sport. I was wondering how the old timers were making power pre-efi live days. what kind of numbers were out there and what kind of track times? It would be cool to make a timeline of how diesel performance evolved

In 2004 I was getting about 430 at the wheels with banks and predator stacked. smoked like a mother. IIIRC the triple stack of doom came about 2005 and Mcrat put down around 500 at a dyno event in SoCal.

Here is a page I printed out 6-1/2years ago, from a So Cal dyno day. I can't find it in their archives.

589 took first place! Crazy how times have changed.
That dyno day is the opposite of up here. In this area it would be 20 dodges and 3 chevys. lol.

wow! i wonder what mods or what chargers were used back then to make those #'s. its still pretty competitive if many were using stock turbos. however if most already had differrent chargers in impression of the #'s takes quite a turn.

either way its interesting to look back!

so in 2005 500rwhp was some crazy shit? lol when did efi live come out?

EFI Live came out some time mid 05. I went back on DP and looked at some really old original threads wanting to know what your talkin about. Funny to read how Mike got his sheepish qualitys and the all might Juice Grips!! I also found it interesting how our transmission have evolved from what i had been reading from way back then. We have come a long long ways.

There were a few fun dyno days. Most if not all were still running stock turbos on duramax trucks. I think the big numbers were with nitrous. I think Pat was the highest fuel only truck.
