Last Friday I ordered a 2016 Silverado Crew Cab, 8'bed, fully loaded with the Duramax and Allison tranny. I know nothing and have never owned or knew anyone that owned a diesel. I test drove a gas burner it seemed ok but did not have the capacity I wanted/needed. They had a similar truck on the lot with the diesel. I took that puppy out for a test drive and boy howdy did that sumbitch impress me! I was sold on the diesel after driving for 45 minutes. Pulled like a thousand pissed off horses!
Any way to repeat I'm a diesel moron
and will be looking to this forum for knowledge and advise. I am sure I will have hundreds of questions.
Truck should be coming in around the middle of March but I will be asking questions before then.
Plan to put a big slide in camper on it and tow my 18' Lund Alaskan behind that and travel the highways and byways of this great country and Canada ogling the landscapes and fishing up a storm.:woott:
I'm from Massachusetts but don't hold that against me. Right now I can't get out of the People' Republic because of family obligations. I spent 8 years in the Coast Guard and 17 in the Air Force and am retired also from Pratt and Whitney. Fully retired and loving it!
