Quick question... My hoses from the fuel filter are cracked and crappy looking...is this normal? Should I replace, or am I taking a chance on a future fuel leak if I don't?
My mechanic tells me that there is a difference between regular fuel line hose and diesel fuel hose. Is this more/less true, or will 1/2" Gates fuel line be ok? He says that the Gates hose will deteriorate from the inside and that it won't hold up to diesel fuel. GM has to order the hoses and they are stupid priced. Any suggestions?? Do I need to look around for hose specifically for diesel fuel? What about fuel line from John Deere? Is it better that Gates hose?
