Not real sure where to put this but here goes...

I'm wanting to get a new exhaust and think I want the diamond eye kit seen here: DiamondEye Exhaust Kit

Couple of questions first: anyone have this system? Likes? Dislikes? The pictures in the above link don't show the clamps. What kind are they?

Are any of the site vendors carriers of this system? If so, please shoot me a price shipped to res. address in 40342. Will want a 4"-5" stainless tip as well.

Thanks! I hope to do business with someone here in the next couple of weeks. :D

got your pm, thanks!!

you know if these kits are good or junky?

whats with that front pipe? Haven't found much about it.

They make great kits, they used to have fitment troubles, but about a year ago they fixed the issues.

The front pipe basically has a glasspack the entire length of of it, and the ones I have sold have worked out very well. Most of the guys that buy them are RV'er types that hate drone. It pretty much does away with it, and their mufflers work well too.

I sell a ton of Diamond Eye, it's just cheap and good. Definitely not the best though.

I may be wrong, but...

I don't think there would be much performance difference between exhaust brands of the same size(I could be incredibly wrong). the big difference is probably in materials (aluminized or SS) and some are louder than others. I have loved my stainless Magnaflow that I bought from Alligator. Not too loud and holds up to the road salt well. I am pretty sure you will be happy with whatever exhaust you get.

you let me know. :D Shoot me a PM.

On this Diamond Eye system, just how quiet is it with a muffler and that fancy front pipe? I want quieter but I want a little more noise than stock when romping on it and idle.

Situation... I currently have a 5" Silverline kit that I had a muffler for but got id of it. The tip has rusted out the end of the tailpipe and I want a muffler. Replacing those two things will be close enough that I can just get a new 4" exhaust with muffler and tip and use what's left of this 5" system on my 83 once the duramax is in it. Won't need the tailpipe section anyways as it'll be stacked.

So, I'm looking to get a 4" system with a muffler because I'm wanting it to be toned down some compared to my 5" straight. Ran across the system in an eBay search and it seems like it fits my bill nicely. I'm not stuck on it if there is a comparable system (4" dp back w/ muffler and stainless tip) for similar or less money, I'll roll with it. Someone informed me of a SS 4" magnaflow for <350 shipped for his Dodge. Gonna check and see if it's similarly priced for a duramax. That's awefully cheap for a SS system isn't it?

I really like the sounds (pun intended) of this Diamond Eye front pipe though.

From all my accounts, installing them on friends and customers trucks, they seem to have very little drone in the cab, but a good bark when you get on it. The front pipe will make the system a little quieter outside, but almost eliminate most the in cab noise all together (it will be louder than stock though).

I have some really good prices on Magnaflow systems, quite a bit <$350 shipped, but you will have to modify the hangers a bit as it was meant for a Crew Cab Short Bed truck.

You could just get a quiet tone front pipe and a 4"-5" adapter to make it work with your existing exhaust. Grab a 5" muffler if you want the 4-5" adapter before the muffler or get a 4" muffler (i have a new one in the garage ill get rid of) and put the 4"-5" adapter after the muffler. Save some money and quiet it down all together. Thats probably what i would do. Should cost less than 150.00 to do that.

Well, I did get this exhaust system and have finally had it put on.

Good: Fits alright and went in without much trouble. Price was right.

Less than Desirable: Well, it went on to reduce incab noise and it's not what I'd call quiet. And no, it's not hitting anywhere. It's just got quite a bit of drone to it at 1500-1800ish rpm. Interstate noise is better (cruising rpm on interstate is 2K rpm+) but around town noise is worse than the 5" straight exhaust it replaced. The outlet isn't real tight to the fender but not hanging down too low either. I'd rather it be a little higher but to do so, the exhaust would of been a little too close to the drive shaft. The exit location isn't a real big deal.

Overall, I'm reasonably satisfied. It's not as quiet as I'd hoped but overall is a good system IMO; especially for the money.
