Has anyone ever used the axle tube reamer from dhd? Might be a dumb question but do you use a drill or tap handle for it. and how long did it take you to ream each side?? Thanks a lot.

Is there any companies that make a better one?

used it many times. You need a big drill like a makita hole hawg. you want the torque and slow rpm of a big drill. You can do both sides in 30 min or so. You just need to keep the reamer clean and well oiled.

Like said above make sure you have a good drill with low speed. That bit took the bearings out of my dewalt. I end up using a heavy duty Bosch drill that worked well.

It was my Dads, I'm 52 now 42+ y/o, I remember that fence post and me being twisted up with the drill, runs great just don't use it. I could come close to the age as it has a metal switch housing.

A buddy gave me so e good cutting oil that he got from a machinist. I also bought some thread cutting oil, I believe it is master mechanic brand. But I know it has been a long slow process...now I gotta find a better drill and hopefully finish the right side tomorrow so I can get it all back together. .
