I dont want to be another lbz vs what ever thread.

Little story behind my madness, had a lb7 and spent too much time on it, too much money on it and after that it kept breaking my chops with little odds and ends to keep fixing so i sold it off. Had the usual built trans, turbo, and all the little mods to help it be more "reliable" with the added power.

I am now looking for a new truck and cant for the love of me make up my mind and here is the reasoning, i am in search of a lbz. Not because it is the all holy grail engine, but because my budget is 20k-25k for a truck and i really like the classic body style trucks and would like to upgrade to injectors being on the outside of the valve covers and would like the 6 speed trans. i feel as if i would rather over pay for a lbz rather then get a lmm because i do not like the bodys on the lmm and they have the same running gear as the lbz, they are damn near the same price in the used market anyways right?

Goal of the new truck, is to have a similar build to my last one, get it up around the 550-600 mark and leave it. ill go as far as changing out the turbo charger and thats it, wont really be adding any fuel.

With all that being said, my father had a lml and i really like that platform, it was a rather large upgrade to me to have a quieter interior, more stout chassis/trans/steering components and obviously interior but the interior is not really at the top of the list because i liked the interior of the classics as well. plus the lml models, i know they have the same body as the lmm engine series but they redefined the front end which makes the newer body style more appealing to me.

So my real question is, what would you guys do if you had goals similar to mine, up the money for the 13-14 lml or keep looking for that lbz that is being asked a arm an a leg for.

looking for a ecsb in either platform.

My vote is LBZ. I actually prefer the seats in the 2003-2007 classic body trucks. And LML do have some issues of the injection pump going bye bye and taking out your whole fuel system with it. I'm not a fan of dual EGR coolers. And I don't like the reductant system nor the DPF. But I am in CA so we can't delete that stuff. So probably where a lot of my bias comes in towards the LML. So, yeah, LBZ

Thats the way i am leaning, but who wants to spend 25,000 on a 11 year old truck? How do you talk yourself into spending that much on something so old? Trucks going to make me ten years then ill be on the hunt for a l5p if it turns out the way they are saying.

is it wrong for me to be thinking about resale, kind of why i was thinking lml

for sure same here, its like the lbz, lmm and lml all clash so close together. was hoping this new truck would really change things up a bit
