Leave the keys with a friend for the occasional workout. Overinflated tires and get a trickle charger. Empty fuel or treat with something. I'd do a thorough interior/exterior cleaning. Consider covering it. Do not park it on grass

My truck sat in a hangar for 3 years with one head off the motor. Only thing that was a problem was a rat got into the HVAC blower and made a nest. Still smells like rat piss on hot days.

6 months of sitting won't hurt anything. Slap a trickle charger on it and don't worry about it.

My truck sits all winter usually. Nothing at all goes wrong. At best I would see maybe canes sticking. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Hueneme is pretty moist with the salt air. Do a good hand wax before putting it up. Change oil, I was always told oil gets acidic when used and can eat at bearings. ( maybe just a gasoline thing )

If you need I'll be happy to flog it down Gonzales between Victoria and Harbor every couple of weeks........:driving:

I would actually get the fuel as full as possible. It isn't as big of a deal on diesels, and especially if there aren't big temperature swings, but here is why:

If your tank is low, it has lots of air in it. As the temperature goes down, it pulls in some air from outside which contains water. As the temperature goes back up, the fuel is below the dew point, and some water condenses out into the fuel. This cycle repeats each day.

That's why vehicles with metal gas tanks that are parked for years have the tanks rust out.

If the tank is completely full, very little air is there to dump moisture.

TX of course
Fill it full of fuel. Water(condensation) in the fuel is your biggest concern.

Ive started putting a trickle charger on my truck and I drive it a couple times a month. My batteries just ain't lasting for shit.
