I joined the forum almost 2 years ago but didn't follow through with the introduction. I've been reading posts on several forums about injectors, fuel pumps and turbochargers. I read "The Diesel Guy"'s book today, "The Complete How-To Guide For EFI Live Tuning the LB7 Duramax", and he reminded me of the www.DuramaxDiesels.com site and so I'm back.

About a year ago, I could hear at least two injectors having issues so I purchased a set of 8 SAC45% injectors in Feb 2017. As predicted, two of the old injectors were gummed and fouled in their cups. Two new cups were installed and the 8 new injectors went in smooth as glass, along with new fuel lines and the rest.

The performance improvement of the engine has been phenomenal but the engine is running rich. This is to be expected with higher capacity injectors. I've been researching the best way to compensate for the larger fuel flow and I purchased EFI Live a couple of months ago. Some of the reading I did told me that fuel injectors can come with a flow rating sheet that can be used to generate new ECM map table values. I asked my supplier if this sheet was available for the injectors I purchased but was told this information isn't available from Bosch.

I'm still gathering information and filling in the blanks to build my first tune. I care about my truck so I'm taking this slowly and steadily.

I will add an improved turbocharger shortly after I successfully tune this engine for the new injectors.

I've read some great threads on this forum and I look forward to learning as much as I can from people with more experience than me. I hope I can add value to this forum and give back through my experiences.

Thanks and Happy New Year!
