My LMM has done this since I got it, when I manually downshift from 4th to 3rd gear (when at 2k rpms in 4th I downshift to 3rd) the trans has a 1-2 second delay and then hits 3rd gear. Now, when it finally gets to 3rd the engine rpms are near 1000rpms, so its somewhat of an abrupt gear change when it finally gets to 3rd. After I had the trans built by a good friend, it was smooth as silk. I figured the worn clutch packs were to blame or something, but the more I drove the truck the more frequent it did this delayed downshift. And now, with 10k+ miles on the trans it does it every time..Is this a TCM problem, sticky shift valve somewhere? This can't be good for 3rd gear over the life of the trans, itd be nice to have it downshift correctly. Or is it the fact I dont downshift often enough so its always relearning it??
