Allison 5sp: Deep pan fluid level

You guys that are running a deep pan, what mark are you using for the fluid level on your dipstick when at operating temp?

I've heard(don't quote me) Mike L say something to the effect that the deep pans change the level of the fluid in comparison to the full mark and the full mark is no longer the correct spot.

Hmm interesting, if that's the case I'd like to know too and why

I run mine at the add mark as that is what I was told to do by the trans builder. Its been that way for two years now.

Was just curious where you guys were at. I had mine at the normal mark, and it seemed to run warm on me. Now i'm at the top of the cold mark when i'm at normal operating temp. Runs cooler for me.

ive been wondering this aswell, mine runs a little warm and somethimes i can smell tranny fluid but no leak, So some guys run them on the add mark? i might have to try that.
