Hey guy's just wondering how to debadge my truck without breaking anything because I might want to put them back on or somewhere else. I tried using some adhesive remover and tried tugging fairly hard but I felt it was probably going to just snap a peice off. I'm just trying to get the 2500hd part off and leave the duramax badge on. Thanks:confused:

I would not use fishing line it can burn the paint. Spray some adhesive remover on and I usually take a plastic scraper and mask the edges a few times then put a cloth over it. You can work it under the edges of the badge without messing the paint up. Once you get a corner up just peel the badge off. Then hose down the sticky stuff and use an eraser wheel. This is the fastest cleanest way I have found and I have taken LOTS of badges and moldings off.

if you put the fishing line under the badge and not on the paint, it's not going to burn it.

It's a lot easyier than masking and covering everything up for 2 minutes worth of work. I broke a badge with paint scraper:hug:

I used a bondo applier and 3m adhesive remover. They didn't come off in one piece but I didn't car. Took all badges except the Duramax one and 4x4 stickers.

Yepper. I like that method. Ive seen fishing line do ugly things but I have seen it work. I just like the thin plastic better.

3m pinstripe wheel makes it so much easier to remove the glue

This is the best for removing the glue.

Your gonna F-up the badges guaranteed unless you are anally careful when you remove them.

Here's a pic of mine de-badged-you can't tell the stickers or ugly door trim were ever on.

To get my badges off I heated them up with a heat gun a bit and then sawed them off with fishing line. I ran the fishing line between the badge and the glue, trying to keep it away from the paint. Then I was left with just the glue which I heated and then rolled off with my thumb. I then ran a clay bar over it. To get the door moldings off I heated them up and got my fingers under them and slowly peeled them off heating as I went. I also peeled up both ends of the door moldings before the middle. I have heard that if you just go from one end to the other and pull it off too quick at the end it can leave a very small dent. Not sure if it's true, but I didn't want to risk it. Hope this helps, sorry for the long post. :)
